Knot 10 Yacht Sales was founded in 2008 with a unique vision on yacht brokerage that focuses on an approach that’s clearly different. All of our team members are solely devoted to the selling and listing of brokerage boats. Our employees are dedicated to our core principles of superior photography, advertising, and communication wrapped within a unique commission structure.
Founder & President
Marc Benvenuto is the founder of Knot 10 Yacht Sales. His goal is to take the brokerage world to the next level of customer service for both buyers and sellers. Marc’s experience in high end capitol sales, along with years of boating with his family allowed him to develop a model that was clearly different from what traditional brokerage has offered.
Prior to starting Knot 10, Marc owned and operated multiple companies throughout the healthcare industry. Rarely acknowledging his numerous sales achievements, he is quick to point out that his success has been driven by his attentiveness to his customer’s needs.
Marc enjoys spending time with his family doing, what else? Boating!
Founder & VP
Judy Benvenuto and her husband, Marc, founded Knot 10 in 2008. Today, she is responsible for building and maintaining solid relationships with existing clients, attracting new clients, and ensuring that Knot 10 remains a company built around exceptional service.
Judy’s marketing experience and strong organizational skills allow her to juggle the needs of a growing company with the needs of her family. An epicure, her favorite enjoyment is testing out new recipes with her family. Judy remains a committed volunteer to many worthwhile organizations.
With many years of experience within the Marine and Real Estate settlement industry Rita plays a vital role at Knot 10. Her excellent communication skills and love of working in a fast-paced environment allow her to multi-task and clearly communicate with all parties. She is the front line, making sure closings and settlements are up to expectations.
Her dedication and drive have brought a fresh perspective and a proven work ethic to the team. When not working, Rita enjoys spending time on the shore with her husband Mike. She can also be spotted “over the bridge” spending time with numerous nieces and nephews.
Lauren joined Knot 10 and works on the front lines answering phones, finalizing brochures, and controlling the incoming traffic coming in to buy or sell a boat. Lauren fits right in and has no problem dealing with the constant changing and hectic pace Knot 10 always seem to bring. Lauren’s list of responsibilities seem to keep growing as she has shown an unwavering capacity to learn and grow since joining Knot 10. Whether reading us for the next boat show or managing the office Lauren excels!

After serving in the United States Air Force, Dominic began a fifteen year career in the automotive industry. This background provides him with not only a thorough command of the sales process but, a full knowledge of mechanical service and financing.
Considering Dominic’s numerous watercraft transactions, it makes perfect sense that when it was time for him to make a career move he aligned himself with Knot 10 Yacht Sales. Having experienced the good, the bad and the ugly of the industry, Dominic knows that Knot 10 is the one broker that truly gets the job done right and with integrity. Upon meeting Dominic, you will find his passion for boats infectious.
Calling on a very successful background of selling new Cruisers Yachts, Ed brings Knot 10 customers a broad base of boating knowledge. His passion for the business shines through in his courteous and helpful demeanor, and his ability to step up and help beyond just selling a boat has led to customer loyalty that many never achieve. Ed builds a rapport with people quickly and easily – an attribute that compliments his exceptional sales and negotiating abilities.
In his spare time Ed used to be spotted in the stands at The Comcast Center watching Maryland Basketball and stayed active playing on numerous local sports teams. Now, he stays active happily watching after his newborn daughter.
Mike Kelly grew up spending summers boating on Lake Ontario and the finger lakes of upstate New York. He finished college and concentrated on building his professional management career, but still managed to spend time on and around boats. After 30 years and 7 relocations around the country, Mike and his family finally decided to settle here on the Chesapeake Bay where they are able to spend more time together on their Cruisers 400 Express.
“After thirty years in the corporate world I was ready for a change,” says Mike. “I spent 21 years with the same employer and became a vice president of the company. When I decided it was time to leave, the only thing I wanted to do was become a yacht broker. I’ve learned the importance of identifying the needs of the client and matching those needs with the right product. Listening to clients, matching them with the right boat, and providing the very best in customer service is what good brokers do. I look forward to being exactly that kind of broker for you.”
You often see boat salespeople entering the industry as a “retirement job” — not Mike. Knot 10 is a forward-thinking company and Mike is a forward-thinking guy. Mike will be operating out of the Kent Island office and ready to help you live the boating dream.
Bobby Pette has always had boating on his mind with whatever he does in life. Bobby came to Knot 10 Yacht Sales after the early days of Warehouse Creek and Clarks Landing and then owning his own business, where he maintained boats and assisted Knot 10 Yacht Sales with the deliveries. He soon realized that his true passion was helping people buy and sell their boats. When you have such a strong enthusiasm for boating and helping people find their dream boat, its no wonder Bobby receives wonderful reviews from all the Knot 10 customers he interacts with. Bobby lives in Annapolis, MD where he spends his free time with his wife and dog boating on the Chesapeake Bay or traveling around the world.
Details, details, details – Jay is your man for them. Jay joined the brokerage world after managing and owning mortgage companies for two decades. It is this background that allowed Jay to smoothly close more than 150 vessel sales over the last 3 years. Financing, contracts and closings can have a multitude of facets and Jay can help you through all these details.
In addition to the time Jay spends assisting his clients, he sails the Chesapeake with his wife, son and Australian Shepherd on their Beneteau-Oceanis 390. In his 40 years on the water Jay has sailed the Mass-Cape area, Long Island Sound, Chesapeake Bay, Bahamas, Caribbean, West Indies, and most recently the Croatian Coast from Split to Dubrovnik.
The quote reads “I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.” Vic Redden’s work ethic proves this quote true. Not once, not twice, but three years in a row Vic took home the Knot 10 Saleperson of the Year Award. Clients who work with Vic are rewarded when he combines tenacity with years of product knowledge. Before joining Knot 10 Yacht Sales, Vic represented Sea Ray boats, gaining particular knowledge of the Sea Ray brand.
Vic spends most of his time concentrating on helping you sell or purchase your dream boat. However, if he gets to talking about his personal life, you are sure to hear about his hometown of Denton, where he lives with his wife Joann. Vic and Joann are most proud of their sons Jake and Luke.
Randy comes to Knot 10 with years of experience in the yacht industry and a pedigree that will serve him well in his position as a managing broker. Randy has grown up in the industry from owning a yacht maintenance company , crewing on several large yachts and has been a broker for years. With an intense knowledge and desire to find out the ins and outs of buyers and sellers Randy offers an encyclopedic knowledge of the market that benefits any that have worked with him. Randy’s past brokerage experience on higher end product combined with Knot 10′s marketing and brand awareness will benefit those looking for service, integrity and experience. With residences in Florida and Maryland Randy can be found serving clients in those two important markets on a daily basis.
The story goes…Todd Wittman has been selling boats and marine equipment on the Chesapeake Bay for most of his adult life. Growing up on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, he took his first job at age fourteen, working at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Too young to drive, he commuted to work by boat and his life’s passion was born. Prior to his current career of selling boats, Todd was the Mid Atlantic representative for the Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC). There he was responsible for handling the accounts of 200 dealers and posted sales in excess of $25 million.
The story continues today…After building a successful career in boat sales, Todd recognized Knot 10 Yacht Sales as not only the industry leader in yacht brokerage, but, as the premier brokers who are up to date with the trends and patterns driving the industry. He joined Knot 10 and is now parlaying his experience representing many impressive yacht brands including Cruisers Yachts, Carver, Marquis, Silverton, Sunseeker and Tiara with Knot 10’s marketing program.
Todd currently resides in historic Easton, MD, with his lovely wife Peg and beautiful twin daughters. They love and promote the boating lifestyle – cruising, fishing, and relaxing on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.
Knot 10 is fortunate to have a broker in Virginia Beach with the industry experience that Steve brings. Prior to coming to the East Coast, Steve’s owned and operated his own marina and boat dealership for over 20 years. Working hands on in every facet of the pleasure marine industry with his experience he understands both the buyer’s as well as the seller’s perspective. As we grow in this market Steve will play a key role in ensuring Knot 10 stays true to its principles. You can ask any customer he encounters about Steve’s demeanor and knowledge as you will get a glowing testimonial.
Residing in Virginia Beach with his wife Paige, Steve stays active and enjoys coaching and spending time with his young son.
Captain Gerald Belcher
Captain Gerald (Jerry) Belcher is a member of Knot 10’s Florida Team, working out of Boca Raton. Jerry has been an avid boater since he was a teenager and holds a USCG Master Captains License as well as Private Pilots License. Jerry has owned several power boats, some of which he restored from props to flybridge. He has extensive boating experience on inland rivers and lakes as well as the Atlantic, Gulf, Bahamas, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands.
Jerry was very successful working for 32 years in the high tech medical imaging industry in sales and sales management with Industry leader Olympus. He sums up his decision to come aboard Knot 10 Yacht Sales as follows: “Because of my passion for boating and related water sports I decided to start a second career in the boating industry. After reviewing several options, it was clear that Knot 10 was the perfect fit for me. Knot 10 allows me to continue utilizing my skills from the corporate world in sales and sales management while combining those skills with my boating experience, knowledge and enjoyment of being on the water. I could not think of a better way to spend each day than working with other people that have the same passion and love for boating.”
Captain Jim White
Jim has spent most of his life on boats – starting at a young age, he used his dad’s dinghy to ferry boaters ashore from their moorings on the South Shore of Long Island. He soon graduated to building hydroplanes for unofficial races on the bay. After graduating from college he joined the Navy and spent the next 20 years on ships. After a year in the surface Navy, Jim transferred into Naval Aviation and became an A-7 Corsair Attack Pilot. He first deployed to Vietnam on the USS Kittyhawk, thereafter making numerous deployments on several Aircraft Carriers.
After his career with the Navy Jim became a commercial airline pilot with Continental Airlines, were he flew the A-300 Airbus, Boeing 727 and the Boeing 737.
As you can see, Jim is not a retirement type of guy. While flying he has owned numerous boats and personally does all the work on them from cosmetics to engine rebuilding. With his knowledge he is more than willing to help any of his clients with trouble shooting a mechanical problem and determining the best approach to fix it. Jim knows where your yacht needs to be to beat the competition and looks forward to serving clients in northeastern Florida region.
Captain Ken Gimbel
Your leading Knot 10 representative for the New Jersey/ Philadelphia area is Ken Gimbel. This Master Captain is both professionally and nautically connected up & down the entire Eastern Seaboard. In addition to Ken’s vast sales and customer service experience, he is a Certified Diesel & Gasoline Engine Technician. Ken is a lifetime boater who calls Atlantic City his home port. It would not be unusual to find him cruising the Chesapeake Bay and Delaware River with his lovely wife, grown children or best buddy “Bob” – a yellow lab.
Director Of Security
Conch was hired after Sea Weed was fired for leaving the back warehouse door open on a repeated basis. Known for his fierce ability to greet people at the door, inspect the trash for possible food and carry anything he can in his mouth, Conch is a typical English Cream retriever. When not patrolling the office Conch can be found at Marc & Judy’s, swimming or resting from his busy workdays. Conch is highly motivated although easily distracted by wandering females.
